EXPLORING PATTERN, PAPER AND COLLAGE!
We will consider ways to print patterned paper, concentrating on layering, glazing, edges, shapes, paper surface and lines. Instead of paint brushes we will experiment with stamps, stencils, ruling pens and squeeze bottles. These can be a great alternative to traditional brushes and pens. You should leave the class with sheets of patterned paper done in two different formats, a hand cut stamp and several simple collages. There will be a demonstration on how to use masks to put the pattern or texture in the exact space and shape where you want it. I will bring the paper, the stamps and the stencils if you bring the enthusiasm! This class will cover techniques useful for all levels and for multimedia artists and painters of all kinds.
