Come spend three wonderful days painting, creating, and exploring through art. The first day will be spent creating backgrounds, layers, layers, and more layers. We will be using gel medium to gain texture, create transfers, and glue down collage elements, combined with paint, inks, and anything else you wish to add to your paper. The second day we will be exploring the face, painting, drawing, collaging: using acrylic paint, artist crayons, and inks. On the last day of class we will be pulling pieces together, creating several pieces of art that are loaded with the techniques you discovered in the past two day.Supply List:
• 20 or more sheets of 11" x 14" 100% cotton hot press watercolor paper pages from old text books, music script, and/or dictionary pages to be used for transferring with gel medium & for collage.
• Your favorite magazine, catalog, or art book to be used for collage, something with vibrant images that you love.
• Art papers to collage with
• A variety of Acrylic paints- I use and love Golden, my favorites are; Titanium White, Paynes Gray, Quinacridone/ Nickel Azo Gold, Quinacridone Crimson, Hansa Yellow Medium, Green Gold, Manganese Blue hue, Light Ultramarine Blue
• Golden Medium Soft Gel Matte
• Adirondack Re-Inkers (3-5) I love oregano, latte, pesto, butterscotch, & espresso (www.blockheadstamps.com)
• A few background stamps & stencils, flowers, script, leaves, crackle, etc…
• Scissors
• Masking Tape
• A fine-medium grit sandpaper (just a few sheets)
• White Gel pen (www.jetpens.com)
• A few medium-small sized brushes {I love Princeton Synthetic Sable Filbert}
• A few Caran d'Ache Neocolor II Artists' Crayons (your favorite colors)
• Black Marks ALl pencil by Stabilo
• A container for water
• A few rags
• Any embellishment you would like to add to your work, lace, fabric scraps, buttons
Note: Acrylics and gesso, brushes and basic tools are all available at the studio for those of you flying in and needing to travel light.
